Spotting The Difference Between Bridesmaids Gifts And Gifts For Maid Of Honor   by Jnet

The role of bridesmaids and maid of honor doesn't go far different. However, there are some responsibilities that the maid of honor need to do, different from bridesmaids. Being the maid of honor is equivalent to being the best man. Usually, the Maid of Honor is the best friend of the bride, and thus she has a special position in the hierarchy of the wedding. This also means she must receive a different kind of gifts (usually more expensive) from gifts for bridesmaids. She may be given a wedding goodie bag the same as bridesmaids, but it would always nice if she will be given a special present that is intended solely for her. But despite of the differences between the two gifts, there is still one common idea that links the gifts for maid of honor and bridesmaids, and that is the thought of thanking them and appreciating what they did to help make the wedding a success.
If you are a bride who wants to single out your Maid of honor, you might need some research to do. Researching is pretty normal or shall I say an initiative from the bride who wants to make sure that the maid of honor's gifts shall be different from the those presents for the bridesmaids. While you are selecting bags of goodies for each girl, may also think of buying a China dish ware set as a special present for your best friend. Such gift idea alone would make everyone realized that she is not one of the bridesmaids, because she is the Maid of Honor.
As much as you want your Maid of Honor feel special on your wedding day, you also want your bridesmaids to feel the same way too. They will understand why you need to provide different gifts to the maid of honor, but also you have to make sure that theirs would be meaningful as well. Personalize the bridesmaids gifts if they are all the same. This way, they won't look totally the same. You can personalize each item by having the names or initials of your bridesmaids engraved, embroidered, or embossed on each gift. Of course, you can do that as well to the gifts for the maid of honor. Or, why not have their role title instead of names or initials? This also make a cool idea for both gifts.
The more gifts are related to your bridesmaids and maid of honor, the better. Choose bridal attendants gifts according to their personal preferences. For example, if both role players travel a lot, you can give them nice choices of tote bags that they can use for traveling. However, make sure to stick to the rule: bridesmaids can get the same kind of tote bags, while tote bag of the maid of honor must be different. You can also apply this rule on other items like when choosing jewelry gifts, bridal apparel, and other feminine ideas that are common to both bridesmaids and maid of honor.
